Alpheus was engaged to provide Business Manager Services to the Business Delivery Directorate. The overall objective to this role was to ensure that the Directorate functioned at an optimum level. This required a unique combination of personal, business and technical skills.
The Business Manager role was responsible for planning, overseeing & delegating activities from the Business Delivery Directorate and acting as the link between the departmental heads, the Executive Team and the entire organisation, as well as further afield in the DWP.
Working alongside the Business Delivery Director, the Business Manager also was responsible for:
· Highlighting operational issues that needed attention or approval;
· Ensuring deliverables were on time and fit for purpose;
· Providing regular operational and project reports to the Director, Executive team, Board & Departmental Stewards;
· Developing and managing budgets;
· Looking at best use of headcount and working with other areas within the organisation (e.g. HR, Finance and Procurement) to ensure this is delivered on;
· Building relationships across the Business Delivery Team, to ensure open and effective communication between all parts of the business;
· Drafting consultancy cost submissions and operational documentation on behalf of the Business Delivery Director.
· Responsible for quality assurance on document(s) issued by the Business Delivery team in line with corporate and programme mandated guidelines
